Thorougly enjoyed it! Many Thanks

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you for the help and hospitality you and the rest of the club gave when I attended the Phase 2 course at the weekend. In particular, I would like to thank Jess and Paula for their instruction; I learned a great deal and really feel that my skills progressed over the 2 days. Everyone was very friendly; I would definitely recommend the course and the club to anyone.

Many thanks, look forward to returning very soon.

Kind Regards,

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for an incredible few days this weekend. I loved every second of the course and cannot wait to play some more! Jess is a brilliant coach – proven by the fact we all somehow survived and loved our first ever chukka!!
Hopefully there will be more to come! We will definitely be in touch soon to book some instructionals.
Thanks again,

I just wanted to say what a great weekend I had. None of us believed Jess when she told us we would be hitting the ball at the canter by the end of the weekend and playing in a chukka but we did it!

The course is the perfect combination of fun and challenging and I think I can safely say that all 6 of us are now hooked on polo!
Best regards

8 May 2012: Kingsett Cup

Just a quick note to say thank you very much for having us to play over the weekend! Even though we lost that final we all really enjoyed ourselves, such a great friendly atmosphere and also such a relief to actually set foot on a polo ground!

We’ll be back for revenge soon!

Best wishes

Dear Muriel,

I trust all is well.

I would like to forward my deepest thanks to yourself, John, Jessica and Hiro for the outstanding manner in which the novice course and instructionsl chukkas was delivered and for the great hospitality shown. The knowledge gathered and training received was extensive and invaluable, and importantly, fantastic fun! Thanks!

On my return to Malta I immediately passed on your brochures and a magazine to our Malta Polo Club, so there is a chance you might get other requests from fellow aspiring or current polo players for training. My intention is to put malta back on the Polo map and build a relationship with your Club.

Jamie Cumming:

I had a fantastic time on the polo course and can’t wait to get back on a horse for anothe try. Your hospitality was wonderful and the course itself was of excellent value.

I cannot thank you enough for a super course and hospitality at Tidworth. I found the instruction brilliant with Jess making sure we all learnt the techniques correctly and ensuring we didn’t pick up bad habits.

The structure of the day was excellent, especially as it was varied with the chairs, school, stick and balling then culminating with the chukka on the final day. Also, lunches were amazing and the ponies were brilliant and well-suited to the riders. A big thank you to the whole team.

Alexander Pike:

Thank you for such a fantastic few days helping us brush up on our rather rusty polo. the food was really suyperb and Jes was a great instructor..

I would firstly like to say what a fantastic time I had. I arranged a trip to Tidworth Polo Club’s beginner course for 6 fellow officer cadets at the beginning of this summer. There was mixed ability within the group – from myself, who had only ever ridden a camel – to some of the girls who had competed at a serious level. You are first welcomed into the club house which is a comfortable building with squashy armchairs and a free bar (all being students we sat bolt upright at this information). This is the base camp for the rest of the course where you will spend lunch and any theory lessons. Also if there are club chukkas going on it is somewhere to hang around and watch.

Once the introductions are covered they throw you straight onto the back of a horse for some handling skills in the riding school. Holding the reigns with one hand and getting a feel for the horse’s incredible maneuverability. I was worried that with a group with such mixed ability either the best or the worst in the group would suffer a lack in tuition. This really wasn’t the case and all levels were well and truly tested. We spent so much time having fun concentrating on improving the time flew by and before we knew it was time to stop. The horses were rested whilst we went away and started to learn our swings. This comprised of standing on a chair and having a crack. Lunch was amazing and then the afternoon comprised of mixing the two skills form the morning.

Polo as I have discovered is fiendishly difficult and our instructors did well to keep our spirits up and keep the afternoon fun even when we did keep riding over the ball missing it. I would say that this was the key to the course. Each day is split between riding lessons, swing practice, tactics and then an attempt to put it all together. Each day you will improve beyond recognition, but more importantly you will love every minute of it. The atmosphere is relaxed and focused on your enjoyment of the game. There are too many skills to be able to absorb them perfectly within the short space of time, however you will go away equipped to go and play in instructional chukkas elsewhere. You will also go away addicted and this is a credit to the way the course is taught. As an impoverished student I am limited by finances but have still gone to my local club and played this summer. I would like to thank Tidworth for a fantastic time and hope to return to a more advanced course some point in the near future.

Many thanks

I have been on many Friday instructionals and would recommend to anyone interested in trying their hand at polo in an un pressured but competitive environment to try with you guys. Jess is constructive and forgiving and the grounds are delightful against the evening sun. All that come along are always great fun and this institution should never change. We all love it and will continue to support it!

Keep it up!

Dear John and Jess,

Just a short note to let you know that I really enjoyed playing in the Mixed Doubles last weekend. Great ponies and a great group of people to play with!

Look forward to playing in the Presidents Cup!

Beth Newell:

“We are both very keen to try to keep up our dubious skills over the winter. We had such a brilliant time on the course and have been raving about it to friends. Hopefully we’ll manage to recruit some of them!

Thank you again to you and everybody else at the club for giving us such a fantastic introduction to the sport. We’re definitely hooked!”

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the Polo course I am definitely hooked, fantastic weekend. Great instructors, fabulous horses and brilliant hosts. Thanks again.

Just a quick note to let you know how much Rebecca and I enjoyed our course and how welcome we were made to feel. The instruction was pitched at exactly the right level and everything that was promised at the start of the course regarding what we were going to achieve happened. It was a great introduction to polo and we could talk about nothing else on our long journey back north other than how we could get into the sport. The administration and food was excellent and we had a truely fantastic time. Thank you all.

Best wishes

Alison Burstalal:

I did just want to drop you a note to say what a fantastic time James and I had over the weekend. Whilst I’m not sure that my body will ever be the same again and everybody is laughing hysterically in the office it was worth it We will definitely be back. Some general riding lessons over the winter might be wise in terms of getting some confidence back and also getting my bottom used to the saddle again! However, come the spring I think the best approach would be sort out some lessons with you and see where we go from there!
